Your money is in India.
You’re not.
Investing from abroad comes with rules resident Indians never think about: NRE and NRO accounts, FEMA, repatriation, and tax in two countries. We handle all of it, online, at hours that suit your time zone.
What’s different for NRIs, and what we handle
FEMA compliance
FEMA decides what NRIs can invest in, how, and through which accounts. Even accidental breaches cause problems. Every recommendation we make is compliant by design.
NRI KYC
Non-resident KYC needs different documents from resident KYC. We tell you exactly what to send and how, from wherever you are.
Tax in two countries
If you’re taxed on Indian income both here and where you live, a double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA) may give relief. We factor in the treaty for your country.
Repatriation, planned early
Moving money back abroad follows different rules for NRE and NRO, equity and debt, gains and principal. We plan it before you need it, not when it’s urgent.
Your family in India
Many of our NRI clients also support parents here: monthly expenses, a parent’s retirement corpus, property income. We plan both sides together.
Everything online
Onboarding, reviews and recommendations happen over email, WhatsApp and scheduled calls. You never need to be in India.
NRE and NRO, side by side
Most NRIs have both accounts, and most aren’t using them the best way. Which one your investment comes from decides whether the money can easily go back abroad later.
| NRE account | NRO account | |
|---|---|---|
| What goes in | Money you earn abroad and bring to India | Money earned in India: rent, dividends, pension, inheritance |
| Can it go back abroad? | Yes, freely | Up to USD 1 million per financial year, with CA certification (Form 15CA/15CB) |
| Interest taxed in India? | No | Yes |
| Mutual funds bought from it | Repatriable | Proceeds come back to the NRO account |
General rules. Your situation may differ, which is why we check before recommending anything.
Living in the US or Canada?
Many fund houses don’t accept investments from NRIs living there, because of US and Canadian reporting rules. Some do. We know which ones, and since it narrows your choices, it’s the first thing we check.
Where our NRI clients live
The Gulf: the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. The United States and Canada. The United Kingdom. Singapore and Australia.
